Behavioral Analysis

For our clients with Autism, we offer play therapy techniques integrated with behavioral analysis. This type of therapy helps our clients understand their behavior and change it to something more positive. This is done through skills practice, where our therapists use positive reinforcement.

Play Therapy

Through the use of tools such as storytelling, role-playing, sand trays, and more, our therapists can help your child develop social skills and relational connections. This type of therapy allows a safe space to interact with others, practice learned skills, and learn problem-solving techniques.

Play Therapy

GATE clinicians are trained in the Autplay model, created by Dr. Robert Grant. Autplay Therapy for children and adolescents is a Behavioral play-based approach for Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. Our therapists use board games, storytelling, role-playing, sand trays, and expressive arts.

Therapy Based on Your Needs

At GATE, we understand that each of our clients is unique. We don’t try to make everyone fit into one therapy plan. Instead, our counselors will design your treatment plan based on your specific diagnosis, desires, and mental health needs.

Consultation

The first step into our therapy services is the consultation. Our counselors will gather information about you so that we can provide the best treatment for your therapy needs. This information includes insurance, past diagnosis, treatment desires, and whether you prefer in-person or telehealth sessions. We will then set you up with a confidential web-based program, TheraNest, where all of your information will be stored.

Evaluation

Once we take care of all the technical information, our counselors will sit down with you to determine the best treatment plan. During this step in our therapy process, you will conduct a self-evaluation about your or your child, and then our counselors will also conduct an evaluation. Through this process, we will help identify a treatment plan that fits your specific needs.

Appointment

During the appointment step of our therapy process, you will work with our counselors to reach your goals and improve your mental health. Once you begin having appointments, you can cancel, reschedule, or schedule your next therapy session and apply credit card information for co-payments right on TheraNest.

Anxiety Reduction

Anxiety is a common mental health issue related to the diagnosis of Autism. Autism play therapy is designed to help our clients learn healthy coping skills to manage their anxiety. We also teach emotional understanding and skills to handle stressful situations.

Improved Sensory Processing

Sensory integration disorders are common for individuals with Autism. When one or more of the senses are under or over reactive, this can lead to unwanted behavior patterns. Through Autism play therapy, your child can improve their sensory processing skills and learn healthy behaviors in relation to the world around them.
