How Does Autism Therapy Work?
Autism therapy can help both children and adults on the spectrum create positive thought patterns and healthy behaviors. If you struggle with sensory sensitivity, depression, relationship struggles, loneliness, or miscommunication, therapy can help you create coping strategies and overcome these challenges.
GATE Therapy Intake Process
When you work with GATE, we follow key steps, so the therapy process never becomes overwhelming. This includes consultation, evaluation, and appointments.
The first step to receiving autism therapy treatment is to provide our team with important information. This includes prior diagnosis, insurance, treatment desires, and whether you prefer in-person or telehealth sessions. You’ll also be set up on our confidential web-based program, TheraNest, which will keep all of your information and future appointments in one place.
One of our licensed autism counselors will help you complete a self-evaluation. They will then conduct their own evaluation to determine what level of care is best for your mental health needs. Once you’re happy with the outlook of your therapy experience, we’ll create a treatment plan.
You can confirm, cancel, or reschedule your appointments at any time. At this point in the therapy process, you can also input credit card information for co-payments. All of this can be done through TheraNest, so the process is simple and stress-free.
